VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help an online centre in Princetown host ?Get online Day? on Friday, October 12. The day has been organised to get families, who do not use the internet, to get online together at the centre as part of Family Learning Week. High Moorland Community Action (HMCA) is searching for volunteers to help with the event at the Pavilion on Barrack Road in Princetown. HMCA is looking for people to help with delivering leaflets, publicising the event, serving refreshments, greeting visitors, guiding families on how to use online activities, and clearing away at the end. During the day, participants can ?log on? and learn more about what they could do on the world wide web. Families will also be encouraged to take part in challenges and competitions, looking up important information and sharing and developing ICT skills in the process. Get online day is a partnership campaign from UK online centres, Campaign for Learning, Intel and PC World.
