MOUNT House School is hosting a live demonstration of Jolly Phonics for parents and children by Jolly Learning founder Chris Jolly, a Mount House alumnus, next Friday (October 4).
Jolly Phonics is a child-centered approach to teaching literacy through synthetic phonics, including child-friendly actions for each of the 42 letter sounds, which enables them to begin reading words confidently early on.
The system develops letter sound recognition, letter formation, helps identify sounds in words for spelling skills and provide recognition and coping skills for tricky words. Jolly Phonics is widely used both in the UK and in more than 100 countries internationally.
The demonstration will be in the pre-prep department as part of the school's open day event. For more information contact the school on [email protected]">[email protected] call 01822 612244 or http://www.mounthouse.devon.sch.uk">www.mounthouse.devon.sch.uk
