I WAS pleased to note that in an article entitled 'Feedback sought on health and social care services' (Times, July 25) that the Citizens' Advice Bureau is collecting information about people's experiences, both good and bad. This is part of the community response to Healthwatch Devon.

Your readers will no doubt be aware that CAB is a partner with Devon Senior Voice in the new watchdog (Healthwatch Devon) which aims to enable local voices to shape local health and social care services.

If readers are unable for whatever reason to access their CAB, the response forms entitled 'Sign Up and Speak Out' can be accessed direct from Healthwatch Devon by telephoning

01392 248919 ext 110

or by email [email protected]">[email protected]. Alternatively, I and other members of the Tavistock branch of Devon Senior Voice can supply a copy of the form.

None of the partners of Healthwatch will mind which route readers take as the intention is to enable users of local services to share experiences of what happened when they visited a doctor, hospital day centre of anywhere else that they receive care. I would wish all to know of the variety of options available to make your voice known.

A recent visit to Tavistock Hospital by two members of the Tavistock Area Senior Voice under the Patient Led Assessment of Care Environment (PLACE) arrangements as part of Healthwatch resulted in a positive report which gave confidence in the environmental aspects within which care takes place at the local hospital. Healthwatch is here; let's use it.
