SPRING House Residental Home in Peter Tavy has been given an outstanding rating by the Care Quality Commission — the highest rating given out by the body.

The home was rated outstanding in the care and responsiveness categories and good in the safety, effectiveness and leadership categories, giving the home an overall rating of outstanding, held by less than three per cent of social care organisations in the UK.

The CQC carried out an unannounced two day inspection of the home in November 2018.

Spring House is a family run residential care home owned by Matt, Donna and Bridget Luckham and was established in 1988.

The home focuses on providing high quality specialist care for up to 25 people who suffer from various forms of dementia.

Vanessa Crawford, the home’s registered manager, said: ‘I am thrilled with the outcome of this inspection.

‘We have all worked so hard to achieve this high standard and to have this recognised in this way is very satisfying for myself and the entire team.’

Matt Luckham said: ‘Providing a consistent level of care to this standard is challenging and complex.

‘I am so pleased that the inspector has recognised the efforts of Vanessa and her team in providing a first class, outstanding service for some of societies most vulnerable people.’
