ONCE again most of residents of Chillaton turned out to support the village fun run recently which was blessed with sunshine.

This was the third event of its kind with 93 participants running or walking the 2.6 mile route around Chillaton?s country lanes.

Founded by Roy Passmore who sadly died last year, shields in his memory were given to the male and female winners Jim Cole and Emma Passmore.

Roy?s wife Bridget, who is pictured with her son Ryan presenting the shield and now organises the fun run, is landlady of the Chichester Arms Inn where the runners set off from.

?It was great fun and everybody joined in whether it was running or walking their dogs,? she said. ?Every child gets a medal and any money we make after covering the costs will go to St John Ambulance which supported us on the day.?
