HUNDREDS of people in West Devon are being invited to have their say on health provision, in an effort to improve services.

Members of the public and patients? representatives are being asked for their thoughts on what Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust?s vision and values should be, what it does well, what it could do better and what its future priorities should be.

Results of the survey will be incorporated in a new strategy to be adopted by the trust in future.

Paul Roberts, chief executive of the trust, said: ?I am sure we all share some common values ? we all want to see improved services for patients.

?None of us want people to have to attend hospital or be admitted unnecessarily or for unnecessarily long periods. Equally, we all want to improve access to our planned care and diagnostic services.?

The surveys are currently being distributed to households in West Devon. They should be completed and returned to the trust by March 21, when work will begin on analysing the results.

Mr Roberts said: ?We would like to thank the people taking part in the survey. The views of our local communities and our staff are important to us in ensuring we get this right.?
