UNDER fives on a variety of bikes, trikes, scooters and pedal cars rode along the cycle track at Lydford recently as they took part in Gulworthy Pre-School?s annual sponsored ride.

About 15 children took part in the ride along a balloon marked course and were awarded medals for completing the ride. After the event, they and their parents held a picnic in fields close to the track, courtesy of farmer Michael Crocker.

The event was held to raise funds for Gulworthy Pre-School, which runs at the parish hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9.45am and 12.15pm. Money collected is being put towards the purchase of new sand and water play equipment.

The group held its end of year leavers? party at the hall at the end of term, when the children, many of whom are due to start school in September, enjoyed a party lunch and games.
