THE Poetry at the Wharf ?teatime literary treat? was held once again last week but with a Christmas twist . . . Each teatime treat held at the venue includes a competition, and this time it was for the ?best dressed for Christmas hat?. The winner was Mervyn Prosser, who was presented with a prize by one of the organisers of the event, Vanni Cook. Mervyn delighted the audience with his poems ?Ode to the Turkey? and ?Five gold rings?. The event was well attended and included readings of poems and prose with a Christmas theme. After the readings the participants and audience enjoyed tea and cakes. Ann Pulsford, one of the organisers of the event, expressed thanks to Angela Court for providing the space in the bar area of the Wharf for this community event.
