IN the Yelverton Golf Club ladies medal and Astor trophy qualifier division one was won by Belinda McSherry with a nett 76; the runner-up was Marie Deeny, nett 77. Division two was won by Carolyn Crawford, net 73, runner-up Teresa Holt.

The Astor Trophy is a knockout, match play competition. which 12 ladies will compete in a knock out competition throughout the summer.

In the traditional Ladies Captain's drive in the YGC ladies gathered on the first tee for drinks with the new ladies captain Teresa Holt. Teresa's husband Peter was on hand to serve the drinks to the ladies. This year the past captain Elizabeth Calder made a wonderful hat for Teresa decorated with netting, tinsel, golf balls and a toy tiara!

The new captain hit her drive off the first tee. The ladies then played 15 holes of three ball better ball with two scores to count. The winners of this competition were Di Friend, Sue Rumbold and Dene Drown with 63 points.

The ladies wish Teresa a successful and happy year as their ladies' captain.
