South Zeal United 7

Bampton 2

ZEAL took the lead after 10 minutes when a long throw-in from Nick Pollard was headed home by John Halliday at the near post and from this moment on Zeal dominated Bampton.

Zeal were four up at half time with the addition of two tremendous goals from Harley Cann and a lob from Steve Pillivant that deceived the Bampton keeper.

As usual Zeal had a less than convincing start to the second half but as soon as they settled three more goals came in the space of 20 minutes as the visitors struggled to handle the pace of Harley Cann and Luke Honeychurch.

Harley Cann made it 5-0 nil when he completed his hat trick from close range, Lee Gilbert made it six when he converted from the edge of the six yard box and Nick Pollard got the seventh after some good football from the Zeal forwards left him with a close range chance that he converted easily.

Bampton kept trying and forced some good saves from Adam Cann in the Zeal goal and were rewarded in the last 10 minutes with two goals as Zeal lost some shape and concentration.
