OKEHAMPTON showed their top of the table class straight from the kick off in this local derby and played the ball around comfortably, giving the visitors a taste of what was to be the pattern of the afternoon.
Okehampton opened their account when a fine long ball from Daniel Gibbs found Jason Sandford wide on the right. His low cross in was tucked away by Tim Shaw.
They continued to dominate and scored their second when Colin Deacon?s quick throw in to Sandford caught the visitors napping and he cleverly curled in over Carl Downes in the Northlew goal.
It was Gibbs who again was goal provider crossing in for Shaw to finish with Northlew looking shaky.
Okehampton?s defence coped well with Northlew?s pacey forward when necessary and from a deep run Dave Grimes powered down the left before crossing over for Shaw to head home with the keeper slipping, giving the home striker a very tidy hat-trick .
The second half saw Okehampton squander many chances and Northlew packed their defence.
Okehampton only managed one more goal when Shaw outpaced the visitors? defence before firing home low past the keeper.
