STANNARY Hash House Harriers again made the trip to Dorset to participate in the Charmouth Challenge. It is a tough, hilly and demanding course which includes Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast. This is the fourth year in succession that Stannary has done this run and the event is part of a fun camping weekend for Hash members and their families. Nearly 20 hashers took part in both the main race and fun run. Some excellent results were gained especially from those that had not ran it before and did not know what to expect. The fun run is also a tough event of 2.5 miles which includes some of the hills of the main race itself. Miles Eastaugh was the first Hasher home in the fun run in 36th place overall and fourth in his age/gender group. Following Miles was Amber Friendship, seventh in her group, Fenella Eastaugh, who was third in hers and Molly Friendship, ninth in hers. Jake Woodgate was next of the Hashers, well up in his age group. Millie Woodgate was the last of the juniors but put them all to shame by winning her age group. Member Chris Eastaugh said: ?Stannary Hash House Harriers is a social group that meets on a Monday night, does a little non-competitive run and then finds a local hostelery for the evening. Anyone and everyone is welcome. Hashing and particularly Stannary Hash has been growing in popularity despite the non-summer this year.
