South Zeal United 5 Westexe Rovers 1 ALTHOUGH this was a good team performance, three superbly taken goals by Harvey Cann went a long way to securing this win for Zeal on Saturday. Zeal took the lead after 15 minutes when good approach play betweren Ben Davey, Redd Cann and Scott Hooper put Harley through ? after beating two defenders Harley pulled the ball back to beat a third and placed the ball inside the near post to give the Westexe keeper no chance. Zeal missed a few good chances to go two up when the visitors equalised from the penalty spot after a clear foul in the penalty area. Zeal regained the lead just before half time when Roger White put Harley through on goal and beat the visitors? keeper with a good finish from 12 yards. For the first 20 minutes of the second half Zeal dominated Westexe and it was during this period that Harley put them 3-1 up with a great solo effort, beating several defenders before sliding the ball home. The last 20 minutes saw Zeal?s defence under pressure as the visitors pushed forward, but unlike the previous week they held on without conceding to give Zeal a well deserved win.
