DR ANDY Stewart has retired after more than 30 years as a partner of the Callington and Gunnislake Group Practice.

Dr Stewart, who is retiring from clinical practice to pursue other interests, has been involved in medical politics both locally and nationally and has been a tireless campaigner for improved services for patients as well as being 'an extremely committed and caring family doctor', said his colleagues.

He has also had a major interest in the care of colleagues working in the NHS through his involvement in the Occupational Health Service.

Dr Stewart has kept the practice entertained over the years script-writing assorted shows for the practice team and colleagues said his 'leadership, energy and enthusiasm' would be sorely missed by both staff and patients alike.
