Plymouth and District Sunday League. Okehampton Ladies'  seconds 2 Plymouth University Ladies' thirds 0  OKEHAMPTON ladies second team travelled to Lipson in Plymouth on a wet and cold Sunday afternoon and despite fielding a team with some young and inexperienced players Oke played well together.  Halves Sarah Jones, Amanda Sim and Brieze Read for Okehampton fed their forwards with quality ball enabling them to put pressure on the University defence. Left wing Lottie Trerise was unlucky not to score after a penetrating run was thwarted by a strong save from the University goalie. It was a joint effort from centre forward Grace Thorp and left wing Hannah Whitely that culminated in Oke's first goal —Thorp's shot on goal was saved by the keeper but Whitely was perfectly placed to push the rebound between the goalie's legs. The second half saw both teams determined to score. Strong defending from central defender Jo Drake and full backs Katy Graves and Sophie Whitely for the visitors kept the University attack at bay but goalie Jenny Humphry was forced to make several crucial saves.  Nat Dennis battled hard at right half which led to Hannah Whitely's second goal giving Oke a clear lead. This young Oke team bonded well to give an encouraging performance and well deserved win. Player of the match went to Sophie Whitely for her strong defending. l The next Plymouth and District League match is on Sunday at Okehampton, push back at 2.30pm.
