THE official handing over of keys to Tavistock's new library and learning centre in Plymouth Road will take place next Tuesday morning.

Tavistock county councillor and chairman of Devon's lifelong learning scrutiny committee Roy Cook will receive the keys from Stephen Teagle, chairman of the developers, Devon and Cornwall Housing Association.

The hand-over ceremony coincides with fitting work at the centre, which begins next week — the facility is due to open to the public in June.

The centre has been developed in partnership with the county council, borough council and Devon and Cornwall Housing Association.

The new library will have all the usual facilities, but there will also be public access computers linked to the Internet, a council information point, an archive service point and a meeting room with training suite.
