WHIDDON Down Village Hall will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a cream tea and party on Saturday October 22.

The building opened as the village hall in October 1961. It had formerly been the site of Whiddon Down Primary School, which closed three years earlier.

Everyone is welcome to attend the free event, especially those who have memories of the building as a primary school.
