GIRLS across Tavy Guide Division joined to celebrate World Thinking Day recently, one of the most significant dates in the guiding calendar.

It is a day when guides and girl scouts across the world think of each other and of their commitment to international friendship and understanding. It is celebrated each year on February 22, the birthday of both Robert Baden-Powell and his wife, and the former World Chief Guide, Olave Baden-Powell.

The evening commenced with some international camp fire songs followed by a renewal of promises.

Leaders from each of the four local guide units then provided an activity from one of the four countries where guiding has a world centre (Mexico, UK, India and Switzerland) for members of the Division to enjoy.

The younger members, the Rainbows, joined together earlier in the evening to celebrate.

Tavistock District Guides then moved onto their annual presentation evening.
