FIRST Yelverton Guides held a Remembrance evening earlier this month, when the girls were joined by three wonderful guest speakers.
Mr Wright, a 94 year old Dunkirk Veteran, served at Monte Cassino and also in 1st Army North Africa.
He spoke in depth about his experiences during the Second World War, landing at Dunkirk and proudly showing off his gleaming medals. Alongside him was Mrs Wright, a Plymouth evacuee who shared her stories about being away from home for three years as an evacuee.
She explained how Plymouth was devastated during the war and the life she had while the city was being rebuilt afterwards.
The third speaker was Lieutenant Commander Vicky Milburn who served with the Royal Navy for 24 years, taking her to many amazing places around the world and in 2008 completing a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Vicky then put the girls through their paces teaching then how to salute, march and stand to attention!
Mr Wright also brought along his war time music collection which he shared with the girls.
All agreed the three visitors were amazing to listen to.
