COMMUNITY groups throughout West Devon can now receive free support and advice from a new project run by the charity West DEN.
The new Communities in Action Project is offering help to local groups and individuals who are seeking to improve and develop their own communities.
The project team can offer help where and when it is needed, including running meetings, canvassing local opinion, ideas on sources of funding, skills training, and drawing up a business plan.
Recently appointed project manager Clare Williamson-Cary said: ?There are many groups and individuals working hard to improve their communities and to help create a better quality of life for people in West Devon.
?West DEN has a wealth of experience in this area of work and we are very grateful for the opportunity to share these skills with other groups.
?Your community, your project, our support, that?s the essence of it.
?I would encourage interested local groups to contact me for more information.?
The project, which runs for three years, will employ four community workers throughout the borough, and will help a wide range of projects such as playgroups, village halls, youth groups, and many other types of schemes and activities.
