A NATIONAL Christian leader from Manchester will be the guest speaker at an event focusing on unity, renewal and healing in Tavistock Town Hall at the end of this month. Writer, broadcaster and preacher Dennis Wrigley will speak and answer questions relating to the title 'Forgiveness: A Nation in Need' on the evening of April 25 and will lead an event the following morning in Tavistock Methodist Church. The event has brought together the ladies' 'Taste and See' and the men's 'Food for Thought' groups for the first time and the town hall event will include an informal supper. Mr Wrigley travelled extensively and held senior management positions in industry before founding the Maranatha Christian Community 27 years ago. He has headed projects on urban regeneration and is active in politics, having been a parliamentary candidate on several occasions. He is also frequently asked to contribute to private committees in parliament on a range of issues. Maranatha comprises more than 10,000 committed Christians drawn from all the main churches. The evening is open to anyone, men and women, and tickets are available from Revolution, the Fairtrade shop in Russell Street or from Carol Jackman on 01822 613979.
