AN Organ Grinders' Festival staged at Dingles Fairground Centre near Lifton last weekend proved a hit with visitors.

Demonstrating the art of the hand-turned organ were members of the British Organ Grinders' Association, who were dressed in Victorian outfits.

The hand-turned organ was the instrument of choice of street buskers in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The tone of these instruments is varied but tuneful and holds an interesting repertoire of music.

Visitors to the centre also enjoyed the fun of the 'old time' fair, with a coconut shy, penny arcade, dodgems, motorcycle speedway and children's roundabout.
