IN the preliminary match of the Bill Fogerty table tennis trophy Okehampton A beat their B team 9-0. They then went into the first round against the J Team, who beat them for the first time this season, thanks to fine play by Naomi and Nick Jackson, and ably supported by Steve Tyler. The J side winning 5-2.

Dartmoor Fringe played Anchorage B, with only two players — Louis Wilshire and Andy Moppett. They won their game three games to win the match 6-3. Anchorage A beat Milton Abbot 9-0, Martin Fowler, Colin Brooker and Dave Edwards winning all their games. Young Theo Cousins went close against Dave Just looking out 23-21, 20-20.

Tavistock A played Moretonhampstead A and thanks to maximums from Peter Hicks, Roger Bowkett and Phil Ganton they ran out 9-0 winners. Academy A were at home against the Globe Trotters. Tom Pengelly, Daniel Honell and Tom Pearce were too strong and won 9-0. Dougie Braud took Tom Pengelly to a third league decider just losing out 21-18 in the third, in the quarter finals.

The J Team beat North Wyke 9-0. Tavistock A had a walk over against Bridestowe, while Anchorage A had a walk over against Academy A. The Young Ones beat Dartmoor Fringe 7-2. In the semi finals The J Team beat Tavistock A 7-2 and The Young Ones beat Anchorage A 5-4. The final between The J Team and The Young Ones will take place at a later date.

In the consolation for teams knock out in the first round quarter finals Okehampton beat Milton Abbot, Anchorage B beat Moretonhampstead. Anchorage C had a walk over against Bridestowe and Okehampton B beat Moretonhampstead B. The semi finals to be played later: Oke A v Anchorage B, and Anchorage C v Oke B
