THE servicemen of Sourton who lost their lives in the first world war were remembered at a special service on Saturday March 31.

At the service, organised by George Heathman, a new plaque remembering those who died of their wounds in November and December 1918 was unveiled at Sourton Parish Church.

The president of the Royal British Legion's Okehampton branch Col Charles Pyman unveiled the plaque, and it was dedicated by the Rev John Davies.

The name of Percy Mogridge, who died in 1917, was also added to the memorial.
