DURING the great storm of February 14 a large branch of a yew tree, growing in the cemetery, fell into my garden.
I, at once, phoned Tavistock Town Council, and within about ten minutes a gentleman, whose name I believe was Mike, turned up to assess the damage. He was in everyday clothes because he was off duty when he received the call to come to my home and he soon became very wet.
Mike went to change and soon returned with a team led by town clerk Carl Hearn.
Having made a full assessment of the damage they arranged for the debris to be cleared a few days later.
How good it is to know that our town council has such a well led work force who are always there to help us in our difficult times.
