Exeter Saracens 3rds 19

NORTH Tawton seconds were looking to getting back on track against Saracens Thirds, but after learning that Sarries' First team game had been called off it was going to be a harder match than first thought.

After 30 minutes Saracens scored an unconverted try in the corner.

But the North Tawton forwards had other ideas and after a good spell of play drove into Sarries' 22 forcing a penalty which captain Joe Fewings kicked to make the score 3-5.

Saracens scored again when missed tackles allowed them a try under the posts to lead 12-3. Back came Tawton and it was left to evergreen wing forward Richard Nye to plunge over in the corner to leave the score 12-8 at half time.

In the second half Tawton made some chances and with fresh legs took the game to Saracens. Fine tackling knocked the visitors backwards, but they just could not find a way through a strong defence.

Saracens scored a breakaway try right at the end.

Skipper Joe Fewings had great praise for the great team spirit running through the second side.

Training has now moved to Wednesdays at 7pm.
