AS the rain poured down, the 3rd Tavistock Guides held a mile of pennies outside the Pannier Market to raise money for Children in Need.
With the weather against them, the guides collected less than a mile but managed to stick it out until lunchtime.
The amount raised was £69.63, which was matched penny for penny by the NatWest Bank in Plymouth, bringing the total up to £139.26. Thanks were expressed to all of the girls.
