DARTMOOR Preservation Association's annual walk to Fur Tor took place on a lovely August day and the 22 walkers, including chairman Val Barns and committee members, were able to appreciate magnificent views.

This year the 12-mile walk set out from Lanehead and followed a route via Ger Tor to Watern Oke, where there are the remains of a Bronze Age settlement. The walkers then followed the Amicombe Brook to Fur Tor, returning via the Tavy, Brousentor and Higher Willsorthy.

This represented the continuation of the annual tradition of walking to Fur Tor via different routes.

The DPA holds a number of walks and events throughout the year.

All are welcome and information can be found on http://www.dartmoorpreservation.com">www.dartmoorpreservation.com or by ringing the DPA office tel. 01822 890646.
