CASH grants from £500 to £50,000 could be available to parish councils in West Devon wishing to undertake community projects in the coming months.
The money is available through the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), which is actively looking for applications from parish councils throughout Devon.
The Fund is keen to make awards to organisations which have not yet had a grant from them. They could be for any amount from £500 upwards and the Fund is particularly keen to make more awards of between £5,000 and £50,000.
Heritage projects which might be eligible for grant funding can include many things. They could involve protection of local traditions, projects with records such as local history, photographic collections or oral history, buildings which might have particular heritage merit within the community or an environment with a heritage element which needs conserving.
