CALLINGTON Town Band has been awarded a grant of £570 from the Cornwall Community Foundation to pay for ferry fares when the band members travel to France on a twinning visit in May.
Although the band has played at several civic receptions when the French and German Twinners have visited Callington this will be the first time they have ventured abroad and look forward to making music with their French and German counterparts.
The Cornwall Community Foundation is one of the biggest independent charities in Cornwall and supports specific needs and more general community projects within the county. Callington Town Band is thankful to have been one of its beneficiaries.
