GOVERNMENT Minister Alun Michael was in Devon last Thursday (March 18) for an informal meeting with members and officers of the Dartmoor National Park Authority.

Mr Michael, Minister of State for Rural Affairs and Local Environmental Quality, had a private meeting at the offices of the authority.

The meeting was to discuss issues ranging from new access rights, modernising rural delivery, hill farming and reform of agricultural policy to the finance and administration of national parks.

A local produce luncheon provided by Ullacombe Farm Shop, Ilsington, demonstrated to the Minister the high quality of local Dartmoor foods available.
