A BIITTERLY cold wind blowing across the pitch made conditions difficult.

John Hadjiyianni should have opened the Lambs? account with 15 minutes remaining but he lifted Lee Beer?s low cross over the bar from six yards out.

There was only going to be one goal and it had to be special to unlock either defence. It came the way of the Lambs after 81 minutes when a threaded through-ball found former Ashes striker Paul Adcock. He set up John Gosling who curled the ball past former Lambs keeper Richard Keith.

A hard fought game with the visitors extending the Lambs all the way but it was another three points to leave them just two behind leaders St Blazey but having played one more game.

THE Lambs called up Jeff Babb and Mark Wall from the Carlsberg squad and were out to seek revenge from an 8-0 drubbing earlier in the season.

It had rained prior to the start and it soon turned into heavy going but it was the Lambs who adapted the better. They went ahead after ten minutes when Babb dummied his marker from a throw-in to cut into the area and give the keeper no chance.

The visitors levelled on 23 minutes with former Lambs player Bradley Swiggs allowed too much time and space on the edge of the area to pick his spot and curl one high and wide of Craig Howells.

Paul Cowling and Searle missed opportunities to put the Lambs ahead again but veteran Dave Symons rifled in a screamer after Babb set him up.

The rain abated after the interval and the Lambs took full advantage on 55 minutes when from a corner Chris Short took a pass to cross for Symons to head back across goal and there was Babb to stab over from close range.

Howells kept the visitors out with an excellent save a minute later but could not prevent Adam Coombstock getting one back from a free kick to set up an anxious last ten minutes, but the Lambs held firm to record another good win.
