THE young Mount House team gave a spirited performance at the Devon mini-hockey tournament at Exeter University, starting with a 2-0 win against Isca Hockey Club in their first pool match. They were beaten by the same margin in their second game against Ashmoor Hockey Club, but this was sufficient to see them through to the cup competition. In their first game they came up against an impressive Ivybridge team. Thanks to some outstanding saves from Zach Spiers and some really determined play, they held on for an excellent goalless draw. The effort of this game had taken so much out of the boys that they lost their last two cup games, against St Peter's ad Exeter Junior School. The boys should be proud of a really determined and committed effort, which bodes well for the future.
