GOLFERS in Okehampton have donated a brilliant total of £1,697.31 to the West of England School and College in Exeter.

Each year, the club captain chooses a charity to benefit from any funds raised throughout the year.

Last year's captain, Mike Charlesworth (pictured third from left) chose the school for young people with little or no sight.

Funds were raised throughout 2010 in a variety of events, including the captain's drive-in, and the annual Captain's Day and Captain's Away Day.

A number of generous donations were also received from events held by club members.

Mike is pictured with club secretary Beverley Lawson, presenting the cheque to pupils and representatives from the school, including his grand-daughter Lucy, who attends it.
