TAVISTOCK golfer James Ruth is through to the final qualifying round for the 2010 Britiish Open championship.
James, who is now the touring professional at St Mellion International Resort, finished a superb fifth in the regional qualifier held at Ferndown Golf Club in Dorset.
James, aged 25, has recently been in the prize money in June on the professional European tour circuit with 56th positions in both the Celtic Manor Wales Open in Newport and the Open de Saint Omer in France.
He also played in last week's BMW International Open.
James now hopes to win a place through the final qualifier for the British Open, which itself is held at the historic St Andrews course on July 15-18.
