CHRISTMAS and the New Year period for Okehampton Golf Club was a busy one with almost all the fixtures surviving the weather.
Saturday December 22 was the date for the Christmas medalford, when competitors play medal for the first nine holes and stableford for the back nine.
Winners of the event in their respective divisions were: division 1, John Gillard; division 2, Andrew Kirby; division 3, Stephen Hill.
The three-ball running team event held from Christmas Eve through to New Year's Day was won by Ian Moore, Tim Hudson and Richard Prouse with a score of 79 points.
Saturday January 5 saw a three ball team stableford with 96 competitors.
Winners were Andy Rooker, Jim Parker and Peter Murphy with a good score of 88 points, good enough to pip Derek Owen, George James and Peter Matthews by one point. Third was the team of Martin Cox, Phil Martin and Chris Hurley with 83 points.
