MORE than 80 members attended the annual mens' dinner at Tavistock Golf Club where the guest of honour was Paul Stapleton, the chairman of Plymouth Argyle, who gave members an insight into the life and running of the footballing side. Of special interest to members was his informative guide to financial aspects involved in the Championship. 'Our grateful thanks to Paul for taking precious time off to be with us to-night', said a delighted club captain Tony Sherlock. 'A record attendance at the dinner this evening has been well entertained by his talk'      The captain had changed the format for this year's event which included a round of golf with a shotgun start.  A full field of 72 players with many more, including social members, attending the dinner to make it a very successful day. Winners of the day were: 1, Gary Pumford, Bill Phillott, John Lyddon and Brett Mannering with 86 points;  2, Paul Langdon, Roger Short, Barry Shipton and Max Clarke on 85; 3, Mike Swift, Phil Gawman, Shaun Getson and Alan Gawman on 84.
