EMBROIDERERS from all over Devon will be at Cheriton Bishop Village Hall on Saturday, April 24 for the prestigious 'Everybody's Embroidery Event'.

Visitors will find a wealth of exhibits reflecting the embroidery heritage gained from past centuries that is being skillfully carried forward into the future by the West Country Embroiderers Cheriton Bishop Group.

Its members meet in the hall on the first Tuesday of each month to learn various techniques of embroidery, develop and extend personal skills and to also encourage others that have an interest in the art.

Many of the members will be present to discuss their work and exhibits with visitors and to demonstrate methods of embroidery from historic stumpwork and goldwork through to modern machine embroidery; and specialist weaving.

Trade stands that have been a regular feature of the event will be present with a range of goods for embroiderers from beginners to the advanced.

The event runs from 10.30am until 4pm and admission free.

Refreshments will be available all day with light lunches at the appropriate time.
