LYDFORD Gorge is the venue for several activities over the weekend to help parents entertain youngsters throughout the summer holidays.
On Sunday August 21 there will be the chance for children to join a 'wild tribe', or take part in a woodland explorer fun day. The fun day, suitable for children 5 and over, will be full of seasonal games and activities for all the family in the orchard and woodland, with the free event running from noon to 4pm.
Meanwhile those willing to join a wild tribe for the day can take a guided trip through the gorge with one of the National Trust's rangers.
Children will make their own 'journey sticks' along the way, as well as sculpting wooden faces to take home. Starting at 10.30am and finishing at 3.30pm, entry costs £4 for children and £2 for adults. Booking is essential.
On Monday August 22, between 5.30pm and 7pm, the orchard will play host to a storyteller's picnic, with professional storyteller 'The Captain of the West' sharing the myths and legends of Lydford Gorge. Dogs on leads are welcome.
Booking is advisable. Admission costs £4 for adults, £2 for children, or £10 for a family.
