TAVISTOCK Sir Francis Drake Bowling Club ended their 2006 season with Saturday?s traditional ladies? captain?s team v men?s captain?s team which was followed by the presentation of trophies to the winners of all the club?s in-house competitions. The men?s championship was won by Vic Stacey, with George Blackburn picking up the runner-up trophy. The ladies? championship trophy went to Betty Broswe, with Freda Isaac as runner-up. The ladies? handicap competition winner?s trophy went to Marlene Paramor, with Shirley Blackburn picking up the runner-up trophy. The men?s handicap was won by Brian Lamb with Mike Allen runner-up. The men?s two-wood trophy went to Mike Allen with Barry Chappell runner-up. Barry Chappell also won the Muzzlewhite trophy after overcoming runner-up Harvey Leach. The Kerwell trophy was won by George Blackburn who beat runner-up Ernie Piper in the final. The men?s pairs trophy went to Mike Silcox and Mike Allen after they overcame runners-up George Blackburn and Malcolm Bloomer. The mixed triples trophy was won by Mike Silcox, Anne Brown and Der Saunders, with runners-up Derek Bradford, Marlene Paramor and Clive Jago. The ladies? two-wood competition was won by Freda Isaac, with Marion Allen as runner-up. The ladies? pairs trophy went to Val Southern and Marlene Paramor after their victory over Joan Northey and Sue Silcox. The mixed pairs trophy was won by Val Southern and Mike Allen after their victory over runners-up Hazel Lovell and Vic Stacey. The Bryan Parker trophy, which is for a competition open to both ladies and men, was won by Mike Allen after his victory over runner-up Freda Isaac.
