THE Royal British Legion was the venue for Tavistock Swimming Club?s Presentation Evening for the Club Championships 2005. Newly appointed chairman Lorraine Kelly introduced club president Mrs Sue Dunstan, vice-presidents Mr John Reed and Mr Kevin Freedman and coaches James Lake, Wendy Stephens, Rachael Warnett and Paul Chinn who presented the swimmers with the glittering array of trophies and medals. Short distance trophy winners: 8/under, Kieran Rookes and Katie Stephens; 10/under, Sam Campbell and Charlotte Mellor; 12/under - Felix Davies and Rebecca Windemer; 14/under, Ross Williams, Laura Aspen and Kirsty Best; 16/under, Michael Best, Laura Radgick and Amy Warnett; 17/over, James Lake and Rachael Kelly. Long distance trophy winners: 10-14 years, Joshua Stephens and Kirsty Best; 15/over, Chris Ralph and Laura Radgick. Open event trophy winners: Chris Ralph and Kirsty Best. Trophies awarded by the coaches:most worthy swimmer, Rebecca Windemer; most improved, Ross Williams; best overall, Chris Ralph; best in training, Amy Warnett; best squad swimmer, Michael Best; best club swimmer, Martin Greep and Ryan Greep; best junior boy, Tom Waddington; best junior girl, Catriona Smith and Kirsty Smith; best open water swimmer, Samantha Lake; best relay team, Tom Crocker, Sam Harmsworth, Chris Mills, Joshua Stephens, Tom Waddington. Ross Williams and Kirsty Best were awarded the club choice trophies, being voted the most popular by the swimmers. Former head coach, Paul Chinn was presented with a glass tankard by retiring chairman Debbie Mills.
