CONGRATULATIONS must go to Horrabridge Football Club for their first girls' football Festival.
Excellent management by Bill Coleman, Ian Mulholland and Barry Smart, plus excellent refereeing left everyone feeling they achieved something special. The whole day was well organised, even the weather was kind.
A tremendous day out, a tremendous standard of football and tremendous fun. Should be the start of a girls' tournament for the future. Well done, Horrabridge.

I WOULD like to say a big thank you on behalf of Gulworthy Primary School, to the shop owners and market traders who donated raffle prizes for our summer fair draw.
Also a big thank you to everybody who bought raffle tickets or who attended our fair. We had a fun day and raised £776 for school funds.

PLEASE may I extend the grateful thanks of our Parochial Church council to the residents of Gulworthy, and to several friends living outside the parish, who responded most generously to our recent Gift Day.
Prebendary John Rawlings stayed at the church gates (fortunately in the sunshine) for six hours during the day to receive contributions from callers and we are delighted with the amazing total of just over £2,000 so far, with some donations still arriving.
This response goes some way towards our current target of £20,000 for the second phase of our restoration project which involves much needed thorough internal redecoration.
The continuing support by so many for our fundraising efforts is greatly appreciated.
