THE preliminary rounds of the girl?s Independent Prep Schools (I.A.P.S) National Swimming Championships 2003 saw Kelly College swimmers gain 7 top twelve places.
This weekend saw those finalists, Amy Bayliss, Whitney Bowrin, Melanie Clark, Hannah Salter, Charlotte Spicer, Annie Tinsley and Megan Tinsley travel to the Central Baths in Wolverhampton to compete against each other for final honours, with all individual events being swum as heats and finals.
The Kelly girl?s all performed most admirably in their heats to ensure they all made it to the grand final.
In these finals Whitney Bowrin in the Under 13, 50m freestyle event looked stylish and confident as she took the gold medal in a personal best time of 29.63.
Megan Tinsley swimming her very best (31.71) gained a well-deserved bronze medal in the Under 12, 50m Freestyle. While younger sister Annie Tinsley was narrowly edged into 4th place in the Under 11, 50m freestyle event.
The Under 11 girls, Amy Bayliss, Hannah Salter, Charlotte Spicer and Annie Tinsley showed their fighting team spirit in both their relay events.
Narrowly missing the gold medal (1:01.93) to take the silver (1:02.00) in the 4 x 25m freestyle relay and the bronze in the 4 x 25m medley event.
