SOME 30 girls in Tavistock?s U11s, U13s and U15s Football Club, together with their parents, gathered at the Red and Black Club for their third presentation night.
Special guests were Bernard Leech, chairman of the Devon and Junior Minor League and Dave Keast, vice chairman.
U11s, league championship winners, had the following players winning individual awards: most improved: Hollie Shaw; players? player, Robyn Hammond; most player of the match Rebecca Rose; manager?s player: Frankie Foster.
U13s, who were runners up in the league: most improved: Tamsin Bryant; players? player, Robynne Honey; most player of the match, Joy Page; manager?s player Heidi Davies.
U15s: most improved, Laura Philip; players? player, Ruth Cole; most player of the match, Rhianne Parsons; manager?s players, Louise Galway.
Credit must be given to Robynne Honey in her third year in the Plymouth Argyle School of Excellence; Robyn Hammond, Kim Davey and Rebecca Rose in the U12s Plymouth Argyle School of Excellence; Heidi Davies and Rebecca McMullin in the U12 Development Squad; Tamsin Bryant, Joy Page, Louise Galway and Rhianne Parsons for the U14 Development Squad.
Manager Sue Hammond said it was with great pleasure she had accepted the offer of affiliation from Tavistock AFC, and asked the three captains ? Louise Galway, Chloe Bassett and Robyn Hammond ? to present Eric Pinch and Derek Pethick with the girls? charter standard award and league trophies.
Sue said it was a step in the right direction which Tavistock AFC, along with chairman Robin Fenner, had been working towards.Tavistock are to start a ladies? team again this season and with the feeder system of the girls? football club it should be very successful.
Sue thanked parents for support and her coaches for the forthcoming season: Aileen Ismail, Gail and Mark McMullin, Karl Bassett, Candy Capeling and Mharrie McCall. l Pictured above are some of the girls with their trophies.
