A JACOBSTOWE-based organisation which helps people overcome their addictions celebrated its 25th anniversary last Thursday.

Guests to the Gilead Foundations’ special anniversary party at Risdon Farm donned their finest evening wear and enjoyed a dinner with live music to toast the occasion.

The evening included an auction, from which all proceeds went to the ongoing work of the organisation.

Gilead Foundations helps people from all across the UK with life controlling issues such as drugs, alcohol and other addictions.

The organisation also runs Living Free — a support group which anyone from the Okehampton area can attend on a Tuesday night if they need help with any kind of addiction.

Lois Samuel, PR and Marketing Manager for Gilead Foundations, said: ‘Those who come on our programme tend to stay with us for approximately 12 months and go through our relapse prevention course alongside our work therapy skills training which is delivered through the farming enterprises at Risdon Farm.’
