FAIRPLACE Church is to host a craft and gift sale this weekend to support Age Concern Okehampton and Torridge.

The sale will offer a great opportunity to buy special gifts from crafters and collectors.

Jewellery, knitwear, mixed crafts, preserves and more will be on offer, and festive treats include Christmas decorations.

A year after setting up a befriending service, Age Concern Okehampton and Torridge has 13 volunteers providing the service to older people.

The service often provides socially isolated elderly people with a new direction in life, and opens up a range of activities to them. Age Concern matches up older people with an appropriate befriender, who provides them with company in their home or out in the community.
