Lamerton played host to a well organised Probus side who last season won division 4 west.

The home side had the better of the possession in the first half but chances were few. Paul Breyley had the best chance early on but put his effort just wide. The deadlock was broken when Zak Beesley scored his first goal for the club.

The second half came to life immediately when an excellent through ball from the impressive Tim Lyle was latched onto by Paul Cowling to double the advantage.

Lamerton?s best goal followed when after a good build up Beesley curled his second into the top corner of the net.

Probus bounced back and Steve Ridd converted a penalty before Cowling made it four with a header just inside the far post. Ryan Maker then hit a screamer from 35 yards to reduce the arrears before Steve Gibbings capped a fine performance with his debut goal for the club.

This Saturday away to Godolphin in the league, kick-off 2.30pm.
