FANTASTIC roots music comes to Okehampton this Saturday (April 26), as West Devon music organisation Wren invites the cream of the traditional scene to town for a musical spectacular.

An afternoon workshop by Simon Care ? Albion Band, E2K ? looks at the way in which musicians perform, how to develop technique and above all, how to have fun as a musician. Bring an instrument and learn to play by ear.

In the evening, the second Wren Music Night takes place with a great line-up of some younger players of traditional music.

Simon takes centre stage with his own brand of melodeon playing. Wren?s Youth Roots Band from Okehampton College will provide a vibrant contemporary take on roots music. Nick Wyke ? Sacred Turf, Company of Fools ? will play a selection of fiddle music from Devon and the wider world.

The workshop and the concert are being held at Octagon Theatre.

The workshop runs from 2-4pm, with the concert starting at 8pm.
