OKEHAMPTON Children's Centre is running child car seat safety checks in conjunction with the Devon Driver's Centre next week.

Members of the centre are urging parents and carers to bring their car and car seats they want checked.

Worker at Okehampton Children's Centre Jenny Knibb said: 'We are keen for as many parents and carers to attend as possible. 

'It is a matter of great importance, with a significant number of children killed or seriously injured each year due to inappropriate restraint in vehicles.'

Everyone is welcome to attend the event, which will be held on Thursday, November 26 from 10am to 1pm in Somerfield car park.
