PEOPLE can join the Tavy and Tamar Apple Group next month to find out more about apple growing and apple juice and cider production.
Michael Taylor, owner of Endsleigh Gardens Nurseries, will discuss the choosing and planting of apple trees that are suitable for the climate of West Devon.
The management and cultivation of the small orchard will follow, being led by Chris Groves, who is responsible for the two orchards at Cotehele House.
The production and pasteurisation of home apple juice and how to make cider will be illustrated with the use of the Tamar and Tavy Apple Group's machinery by William Spearing and Brian Lamb.
Finally, Ian Durrant of Dartmoor National Park will give details of grants that may be available to residents within the Park.
The focus evening is being held on Friday June 11 at Yelverton Village Hall, starting at 7.15pm. Admission is £2 and tickets are available from Ward and Chowen's office at Yelverton. Further details from 01822 841309.
